Senior Maintenance Planner

The mission for Process Plant Maintenance is to reach world-class maintenance standards; maintenance planning, scheduling and performance management are critical components of world-class maintenance and essential for successful management of fixed plant asset availability.

The objective of this role is to ensure that all work is consistently planned, prepared, scheduled, executed, evaluated, and recorded.  The goal is to improve equipment availability, and therefore production capacity, whilst decreasing maintenance costs.

Responsibilities:

Operational

• Lead and direct planning staff for plant site maintenance planning.
• Maintain a trained workforce with manpower and skills requirements to perform required maintenance planning and related activities.
• Ensure training and apprenticeship programs for initial training and progression training of maintenance planning workforce.
• Develop and maintain the Enterprise Asset Management System (EAM).
• Liaise with Supply Chain to ensure the preparation of services, spare parts, and materials requirements for ongoing operations.
• Interface and liaise with warehouse / inventory, purchasing systems, contractors & suppliers to ensure the effective supply of equipment and parts required for maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with Operations and Maintenance to develop planning and scheduling procedures.                                                                                                    
• Assist plant site maintenance superintendents to implement sound maintenance standards and practices.
• Assist plant site maintenance superintendents to implement short- and long-term plan maintenance.
• Assist plant site maintenance superintendents to develop, review and track OPEX and CAPEX.
• Ensure maintenance manuals and inspection and preventive maintenance programs are kept up to date for all classes of equipment.
• Interface and liaise with DCS to ensure the transfer of meter reading to EAM.
• Identify maintenance planning improvement initiatives and implement them in conjunction with maintenance management.
• Develop, implement, and improve different reports and KPIs with the Enterprise Asset Management System (EAM).
• Interface and liaise with IT to develop EAM, including modifications, upgrades, and programming requirements.

Financial

• Supervisory level expenditure as prescribed in the guideline of authority and responsibility.

Company

• Participate in planning meeting activities prior to work execution.
• Support area planners in the management of work packages in line with the standardized weekly planning process and ensures continual improvement of maintenance processes through the review & upgrading of existing work packages.

• Bill of Materials
• Standard Jobs
• Work Package (Shutdown)
• Tasks
• Material Lists
• Equipment
• Employee
• Track by Asset, Spare parts.
• Scheduling and Planning

• Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, and supply chain to ensure supply and inventory of Spare parts for each project and shutdown.
• Develop EAM to fulfil maintenance requirement.
• Develop standard procedure to standardize naming conventions.
• Develop KPI’s Inbox as required by end users.
• Develop reports as required by end users or management.
• Carry out audits to maintain the integrity of EAM.
• Develop grids (layouts) as required by end users.

Workplace health & Safety

• Develop, enhance, and implement “Standard Operating Procedures”, “Standard Work Instructions” and ensure compliance to isolation and tag-out procedures.
• Maintain a proactive approach to occupational health and safety standards and ensure these standards are considered in all procedures and aspects of duties performed.
• Investigate all incident/accident or behaviours and complete required reports providing solutions, plans for improvement, risk elimination and monitor the implementation of solutions.

Requirements

• 10-15 years’ maintenance work related experience.
• Good knowledge of facilities maintenance management and critical system's uptime reliability.
• Good knowledge of facilities maintenance planning processes and procedures.
• Proficient in CMMS (computerized maintenance management systems).
• Experience in budgeting procedures and techniques.
• Knowledge of Condition Monitoring (Vibration, Infrared, Oil Analysis, NDT), Reliability techniques, and practices.
• Experience in similar industrial environment.
• Mechanical Engineering Diploma or minimum 10 years of technical experience
• Maintenance engineer or and experience individual with a solid understanding of the maintenance function based on physical asset management.
• Ability to expertly navigate EAM.
• Thorough knowledge of maintenance planning & scheduling tools (e.g. MS Project).
• Health and Safety culture of industrial facilities.
