Yard Attendant

JOB SUMMARY

The Yard Person / General Laborer will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations and keeping a well-organized and maintained yard and shop area by performing general building and property maintenance, shop upkeep, and equipment operation.

What you will doday-to-day:

  • Comply and enforce Occupational Health and Safety standards and practices.
  • Assist customers with loading and unloading trucks and containers.
  • Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing materials, ensuring proper documentation.
  • Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, Loader.
  • Operate Winch truck to move tanks/containers in/out of shop.
  • Maintain outside grounds (remove snow, ice, and debris, spray and remove weeds.
  • Assist the Parts, Service, and other departments, as needed, with cleanliness and organization.
  • Assist with the maintenance and repair of all equipment and machinery as required.
  • Pressure washing duties as required, including but not limited to tanks, buildings, and vehicles
  • Pick-up and delivery errands as required.
  • Coordinate vendors for yard related items or Services
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
  • Experience in developing Training Programs for a Transportation company is preferred.

Qualification:

  • High School Diploma
  • Valid driver’s license
  • License/Training on loader, pacer or reach trucks would be an asset.
  • Safety Oriented

Experience:

Warehouse/Yard 1 year (preferred)

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Some overtime and after hours’ work may be required.
