We are looking for a highly motivated Pensions Analyst to join our Pensions Data Team in Toronto. You will be part of a growing data-driven product development team striving to transform OMERS employees, members, employers and stakeholders experiences through the deployment of high-quality data products and visualizations. We are striving to provide information and actionable insights to improve experiences for members, stakeholders, employers and OMERS teams.

The Pensions Data Team is an exciting new team focused on leveraging the newest technologies and approaches to deliver solutions and systems for the modern-day end user. Our primary focus and commitment is to provide real value through high-quality information and actionable data-driven insights. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:
Collaborate within an agile framework, and engage with product owners, business partners and technology teams to translate business needs into data designs, e.g. data analytics, data modeling, data profiling and data mapping

Analyzing large data sets

Managing the extract, transform, load (ETL) process for the purposes of producing data-driven insights about our members, including:

working with other technical teams to define the data pipeline;

performing data analyses and building insightful visualizations;

documenting system requirements

Collaborating with peers and data analytics leaders to:
Identify, draft and communicate findings to senior leadership;

Research best practices in CX analytics and reporting;

Advisesenior leadership on approaches to enhancing our existing ETL process

Working collaboratively across a variety of technical, data science, and business teams to deliver the Pension Experience Insights program

Assisting other members of the Pension Data Team with data validation and checking, where needed

To succeed in this role, you have:
Experience running end-to-end data analytics projects, including: requirements gathering, data collection, data cleaning and analysis

Knowledge of Pensions plan policies and administrative procedures

1+ years of experience working with SQL

It is an asset if you have experience working with Python and/or R

It is an asset if you have experience working with Power BI, or similar data visualization software

A track record of “thinking outside the box” and looking at a challenge through multiple lenses

Experience of applying innovative solutions and working with business stakeholders to challenge the status quo, deliver solutions that tackle business problems and meet business requirements

Acute attention to detail and an interest in maintaining the highest data quality standards

Strong ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure to meet deadlines

Strong willingness and independent attitude in learning new things

Robust understanding of agile methodologies

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with different personas

Knowledge of systems development life cycle, IT processes and ability to grasp complex technical concepts and translate it into business language

Ability to adapt to a dynamic and evolving software development team environment

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Windows

An interest in demography, behavioral psychology or in pension administration
