Since 2021, Digital Square has been supporting Senegal’s Ministry of Health (MSAS) to digitalise community health through the Digital Community Health Initiative (DCHI funded by President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI). In Y1, Digital Square lead the design of the project using collaborative approach such Collaborative Requirements Development Methodology (CRDM). Digital Square support the MSAS to select a tool with an inclusive approach. CommCare were finally chosen to be adapted following the functional and non functional requirements defined during CRDM.
Digital Square will continue to work with the MSAS in Year 2 to develop and test a CommCare application that supports the provision of integrated community case management by ACs, specifically for malaria and febrile illness. This will be in line with the national triennial digital community health implementation plan and the functional system requirements that were identified through the CRDM process in Year 1.
The IT specialist consultant will work closely Digital Square Senegal team, Dimagi and the MSAS identified DevOps engineer to deploy CommCare and all its services in one of the local data centers (that will be chosen collaboratively). He will also support the MSAS on Commcare front-end development and testing (User Acceptance Testing).

Consultant Responsibilities :

The Consultant will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Contribute to Commcare application backend configuration and frontend modules development following requirement
  • Support User acceptance tests and reports
  • Contribute and provide updates to the regular meetings and check-ins with MSAS.

Required Expérience :

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in digital health
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, collegial and able to interact with diverse colleagues and facilitate strong working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Good knowledge on cloud-servers deployment
  • Experience working with teams to develop health information systems with a focus on interoperability and standards
  • Experience working with in-country stakeholders including, and not limited, ministry of health officials.
  • Have deep familiarity with open-source global goods and the digital health landscape.
  • Willingness and ability in-country up to 15% of the time.
  • Working language is french and fluency in English is an asset
