Project Description :

TechnoServe is implementing the Supplier Innovation Fund (SIF) program. The program will support suppliers in Côte d’Ivoire, Nigeria, Cameroon, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to take responsibility for risks to people and the environment in the places they operate while ensuring compliance with due diligence requirements of international markets.

TechnoServe will set up and manage the pilot phase of the fund to support investments in the continuous improvement and compliance efforts of suppliers, specifically around Governance, Traceability / Mapping, Deforestation, and Child Labour Monitoring and Remediation Systems (CLMRS).

Position Description :

The Business Advisor will support the Program Manager in the roll-out of the fund. S / He will be responsible for day-to-day implementation and monitoring of the fund processes and technical assistance (TA) activities during the life of SIF.

Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Support the Program Manager in the execution of project activities and ensures timely implementation of the project.
  • In collaboration with the Program Manager, propose the Technical Assistance mechanism for the suppliers based on the remediation plan.
  • Manage the fund management processing, including supplier selection, Technical Assistance service providers selection, fund negotiation, fund implementation and monitoring, and fund closeout.
  • Maintain strong relationships with the Suppliers and Coopex on the project
  • Review project progress and spend reports; facilitate project steering committee meetings; and ensure projects are on course to deliver results
  • Prepare and submit relevant sections for donor progress reports and communications / learning products (e.g., bulletins)
  • Support the Program Manager in project monitoring and evaluation of results, and produce narrative reports for internal and external consumption;
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with relevant stakeholders;
  • Ensure that project activities are conducted in accordance with local / national donor policies and regulations, TechnoServe.

Any other tasks that may be assigned.

Profil recherché pour le poste : Business Advisor

Basic Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or other related discipline, with 3 years’ experience in cooperative strengthening or agribusiness, or Master’s degree with 1 year’ experience
  • Experience providing training to people of diverse levels of education.

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience in cocoa industry.

Languages :

Fluency in English and French.

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent oral / written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet demanding deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal and team-building skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office & presentation skills are required.
